Why you could be experiencing issues linking your bank account

Why won’t my bank account link to my account?

There could be several reasons why your bank is not linking with your account.

The most common is a mismatch between your account name and the one on your bank account. Both accounts must have the same exact name to proceed without receiving an error message.

These are other possible reasons why your bank account is not linking.

  1. Bank account is not offered on Plaid. If so, we recommend connecting your bank account manually.

  2. You need to enable “Third Party App connections” with your bank. You can usually go to your bank's website or app, and into your account settings, to enable this.

  3. Your internet is timing out. Make sure you have a strong internet connection.

  4. The bank linking fails outside of your bank’s normal business hours. It could be that their server is unavailable. In this case, please try again during their business hours.
